Donald presses had two boxes which were tramped by hand then rolled over the the mechanism in the next image was used to wind the cap down into a single bale which was sown up with needle and twine.

I had the privilege of shearing in this shed some thirty six years ago. Being the slowest of the two shearers meant I also had to use the stand closest to the camera which meant that I had to completely rotate each sheep once it was pulled out just as left hand shearers often do. I very much doubt if there has been many sheep shorn since then.

The years have taken their toll on the sheep holding space out the back.

Before the "little wonder" shearing machine there were 4 stands for blade shearing.

This little wonder made a very big and feice noise.

The yards have been maintained and done up and are used regularly now but sheep are no longer farmed on the property.
