The first part of the day was taken up by a play on the main Akaroa beach. It included the local Maories, the early French & German settlers and the whalers.It was brilliantly done with a mix of fact and humor. The misty rain made the event even more authentic.

Mr Peacock's fashion show was a riot with local people modelling a very colourful collection of clothes.

Where would a French festival be with out roosters and hens.

One of the great highlights of the day was watching the children imitate a crowing rooster and trying to impress the hen in the cage.
